In the heart of Tuscany

The beautiful Valdambra occupies a central location that allows you to reach quickly and easily the most fascinating destinations of Tuscany. An expressway connects it in a half hour to Siena, the beautiful city of Palio. Nearby are Monteriggioni with its walls, San Gimignano with its towers and San Galgano which preserves the mysterious "sword in the stone".

Continuing from Siena towards the south we arrive in an hour to our beautiful coast: the sea of Tuscany has always been one of the cleanest in Italy, and you have plenty of choice between the medieval Castiglione della Pescaia, the fully equipped Grosseto, or the wild Maremma Park, nature reserve.

The same highway leads in the other direction to Cortona, an ancient Etruscan town, ti Montepulciano home of Vino Nobile, and then, in the Umbria region, to Perugia and Assisi, the city of St. Francis.

In half an hour's drive you'll get even to Arezzo, a city famous for its frescoes by Piero della Francesca and for the Oscar-winning film "Life is Beautiful" by Roberto Benigni. Venturing a little further, in the mountains of Casentino, are the sanctuary of La Verna, founded by St. Francis of Assisi, and the Benedictine monastery of Camaldoli. Florence, finally, is easily reached in an hour by train from the nearby station of Bucine, without having to struggle to get into the city by car and finding a parking space. But often in Tuscany the way is beautiful, not only the goal: this is why we suggest some routes along secondary roads that pass through small villages, isolated churches in the countryside, bordering vineyards, olive groves and wheat fields. Minutes from the Valdambra is the heart of the Chianti region famous for its wine, just to the east are the Crete Senesi and the Orcia Valley, while to the south are the prosperous Valdichiana and Lake Trasimeno.
